Maria Elena D’Amelio ha un dottorato in Storia del Cinema e un Ph.D. in Cultural Studies. Ha insegnato per sette anni Film and Media Studies presso due Università statunitensi e continua a occuparsi di ricerca su storia del cinema e media critical theory.
Accanto all’attività di ricerca, gestisce dal 2015 l’ufficio Internazionalizzazione dell’Università di San Marino. 

 

Maria Elena D’Amelio (Ph.D., State University of New York - Stony Brook) is research fellow at the Center for International Relations of the University of San Marino. Before working at UNIRSM, she was Lecturer in Film and Media Studies at Fordham University, NY.

She is the author of Ercole, il divo (AIEP 2013), and of essays and peer-reviewed articles on genre cinema, male stardom, and film history. She co-edited the book Italian Motherhood on Screen (Palgrave 2017). Her research interests are focused on transnational film history, stardom and celebrity, popular genres, digital media.
