Governance of Big Data and Legal Aspects

The fellows, on the recommendation of the Director of the University Training and Safety Center will have the task of investigating the following topics:

  • examination of national and international frameworks related to big data, new terminologies and digital concepts, harmonization and interoperability of technologies and legal cultures with particular reference to the field of security and new asymmetric threat scenarios;
  • Big Data, new technologies for security and balancing national, collective and individual needs and interests;
  • alignment of technological and legal knowledge, control and monitoring of knowledge in the light of security, data protection and personal needs;
  • Big Data, design of new security systems and protocols for the implementation of ethical aspects and legal protections.

The collaboration will extend to the preparation of:

  • analysis of existing national and international technologies and regulations with reference to Big Data and their use in the field of security;
  • definition of the elements for the governance and use of Big Data, and the related legal aspects, in the field of security, also through the development of demonstrators that can enhance study and research products;
  • elaboration of outcomes and drafting of conclusions.

Headquarters
The activity will be carried out, in agreement with the Director of the University Security Training Center, at the headquarters of the Department of History, Via Salita alla Rocca, 44, San Marino or outside it through the use of technological tools.

Duration
12 months for research and 6 months for scientific publications.
