Art. 1 – Definition and objectives of the initiative

The University of the Republic of San Marino announces a competition for entrepreneurial ideas formalized in a business plan, with the aim of promoting the development of local entrepreneurship and the culture of innovation through a mechanism aimed at encouraging the birth of new businesses in the territories of the Republic of San Marino, generating a virtuous circuit between young people, institutions and businesses.

The initiative also has the objective of selecting the most deserving entrepreneurial project to participate in the POPRI Youth Project 2026, an international competition relating to the EUSAIR circuit - Macro-Regional Strategy of the European Union for the Adriatic-Ionian region - which connects the world of youth with entrepreneurial opportunities.

The Competition is organized in collaboration with San Marino Innovation SpA.

The initiative benefits from the financial support of the Department of Economics, Sciences, Engineering and Design and the Department of Human Sciences of the University of the Republic of San Marino, San Marino Innovation SpA, the Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs, the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture, the Secretariat for Labour and the Secretariat for Territory, Environment and Agriculture.

Competition theme

Participants are required to formulate and present a business plan, which provides a detailed and organized vision of the entrepreneurial project.

The business idea can concern any sector, product or service, without limits on originality. Its practical implementation will be positively evaluated.

The Competition is open to entrepreneurial ideas from any sector, with particular attention to the following themes, corresponding to the Pillars of EUSAIR:

  • Blue Growth: sustainable development of sectors related to water and in particular the seas;
  • Connecting the Region improvement of networks (including energy networks) and their connections and intermodality;
  • Environmental Quality: protecting biodiversity, fighting pollution and improving environmental quality;
  • Sustainable Tourism: development of diversified, high-quality, sustainable and accessible tourism services;
  • Improved Social Cohesion: skills development, quality of education, better youth involvement, equal opportunities, social innovation.
