Object and proposing subjects
The Research Projects for Innovation, Development and International Collaborations UNIRSM (PRIU) are aimed at scientific studies whose results have positive repercussions in the cultural, social, technological and industrial fields, at national and international level, as well as being transferable to teaching as a process of transmission of knowledge and innovations. The PRIU must also promote collaboration between experts from various scientific-disciplinary sectors, both internally and externally to the University of the Republic of San Marino (UNIRSM), to strengthen the network of contacts already established and stimulate the establishment of new channels of collaboration.
Projects must be based on consolidated skills at UNIRSM, with the involvement of structures and personnel that guarantee solid prospects, even beyond the duration of the project itself, aimed at innovation, development and consolidation of national and international collaboration networks.
For the purposes of the PRIU, the following figures are defined:
- Scientific Coordinator (Principal Investigator, PI): takes on the task of coordinating, from an administrative and scientific perspective, multiple operational units of a project, including his/her own, assuming the relative responsibilities with respect to the project as a whole. This role can be covered by: UNIRSM internal staff classified as full professor, associate professor, researcher, teacher with a multi-year contract, expert in professional activity, staff on scientific secondment, director of a Research Center.
- Local Head of Research Unit: has the task of coordinating an operational activity, assuming the related scientific responsibilities. This role can be covered by internal UNIRSM staff or by universities, research centers, national and international educational institutes, classified as full professor, associate professor, researcher, teacher with a multi-year contract, expert in professional activity, staff with scientific detachment, director of a Research Center.
- Member of the Research Unit: industry expert.
- Research Unit: research group composed of members of the Research Unit and led by the Head of the Research Unit.
- Proposing subject: aggregation of Research Units coordinated by the Scientific Coordinator.
Each participant, in any role, can take part in only one proposal and be part of only one research group.
Presentation of the application
Project proposals must be submitted from 15:00 on 1 February 2022 to 15:00 on 3 March 2025. Each application must be sent by the relevant Scientific Coordinator to the address rettorato@unirsm.sm, in accordance with the application form (Annex 1).
