The Library of the University of the Republic of San Marino possesses, in addition to its bibliographic heritage, the following special book collections:
Ruggiero Romano collection (Fermo 1923 – Paris 2002) containing 7.000 volumes, 200 journals and 3000 extracts pertaining to the field of modern history;
Alberto Ronchey collection (Rome, 1926-2010), donated by the family in 2010, containing 3.060 volumes pertaining to the studies, readings and research of the well-known journalist;
Morris N. and Chesley V. Young fund “Library of Memory and Mnemonics”, acquired in 1991 thanks to a suggestion from Umberto Eco and containing one of the richest collections of books, articles and memorabilia on the subject of memory and mnemonics existing today;
Corrado Vivanti fund, Eric Hobsbawm fund, Adriano Prosperi fund, Lelio and Lisli Basso fund, Alberto Caracciolo fund and Renato Zangheri fund.
