The Historical Studies library was born with the establishment of the Higher School of Historical Studies, founded in 1989, whose presidency was followed by illustrious names of Italian culture: Aldo Schiavone and Luciano Canfora. It has a bibliographic heritage of approximately one hundred thousand volumes, a hundred subscriptions to historical magazines, includes some particularly precious sections, among which we remember: the Ruggiero Romano Fund and the recent significant donations from the Alberto Ronchey Fund, Corrado Vivanti Fund, Fernand Fund Braudel, Adriano Prosperi Fund, Carlo Fusaro Fund, Ercole Sori Fund, Silvio Panciera Fund, Claudio Finzi Fund, Sergio Borelli Fund, Nicola Tranfaglia Fund, Stefano Zamagni Fund. Added to these funds are the volumes donated by institutions, teachers and friends of the Higher School of Historical Studies, such as Eric Hobsbawm, Renato Zangheri, Mirella Bartolotti, Vittor Ivo Comparato, Alberto Caracciolo, Pier Paolo Tempesta and by the Lelio and Lisli Basso Foundation, by the Feltrinelli Foundation, the Vienna Academy of Sciences and the San Marino-Japan Association.
