Learning objectives

The Advanced Training Course in Clinical and Forensic Victimology aims to present the historical-cultural matrix of Victimology and its most recent developments and to frame the figure of the crime victim, in addition to the victimization process.

The program aims to precisely define the methods and different types of victimization; delve into the particular areas of victimology with particular attention to relationships, minors and the elderly; analyze the main cognitive, emotional, psycho-affective and relational characteristics that characterize different types of victims.

During the study days, the student will be introduced to the different interactive methods that link executioner and victim, also analyzing the psychological/affective consequences produced in the latter.

Recipients and professional outlets

Citizens of Italy, San Marino and other countries with a high school diploma or higher, issued by a legally recognized university, can access the course.

The course aims to train the figure of "Clinical and Forensic Victimologist", a professional role that integrates into the group of technical staff operating in both the clinical and forensic fields. At the end of the course the participant will be able to integrate, with specific and transversal knowledge, within the support networks of crime victims.

In particular, the figure of the Clinical and Forensic Victimologist will be able to practice his profession in anti-violence centres, emergency rooms, trade associations and other socio-welfare and judicial organizations that deal with victims or prisons and other recovery bodies for the education of offenders. He can practice his profession with this additional qualification also in private practices as a freelancer.
