Victimology:
Victimology is now an increasingly important field for all professionals who, for various reasons, come into contact with people who have suffered a crime, violence, or a traumatic event. Understanding the needs of the victim, recognizing the consequences that victimization can have on the individual, and adopting appropriate intervention methods is essential to providing effective, attentive, and respectful protection.
The Course:
Il Course It was created with the aim of providing participants with knowledge and practical tools to understand the phenomenon of victimization and appropriately address the relationship with the victim.
The course also provides a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the various professionals involved in caring for victims and provides insight into the national, European, and San Marino legal framework for protecting victims of crime and violence.
The path proposes an approach multidisciplinary, which integrates the aspects legal, psychological and social of victimology, with particular attention to situations that may arise in professional practice.
In particular, the different processes of victimization will be examined in depth — primary, secondary and tertiary — and their consequences on the individual. The role of the victim within the contemporary judicial system, the principles and tools of restorative justice, the characteristics and needs of the so-called fragile victims and the main forms of protection provided for by national, European and San Marino legal systems.
The aim is to offer participants training that is not limited to theoretical aspects, but which allows them to acquire concretely useful tools to recognise the needs of the victim, avoid the risk of secondary victimization and carry out their professional role with greater awareness and competence.

The Italian Society of Victimology (SIV) is an association that for over three decades has aimed to protect and assist victims, promoting the topic of victimology not only in Italy but also internationally, collaborating with major associations for the development of the discipline.

The course is aimed in particular at lawyers, magistrates, law enforcement officers, technical consultants, psychologists, social workers, educators and, more generally, to all professionals working in the legal and judicial fields and who deal with the reception, assistance, or representation of victims.
The route is also open to anyone who wishes approach the subject and acquire knowledge of the main foundations of contemporary victimology.

It will be possible to complete 1 absence form out of 5.
At the end of the course a certificate will be issued Certificate of Attendance to participants who have satisfied the required requirements.
Il final test, which is not mandatory, will provide a certificate specifically indicating successful completion of the course, including the final exam and fulfillment of the attendance requirement. The final exam will consist of a multiple-choice test on the topics covered in the lectures.

USL Victimology Training - 2026
The training course for the Sammarinese Workers' Union (hereinafter USL) on "Vittimology: general framework and issues related to the workplace" offers participants an introduction to victimology, understood as a discipline that deals with the study of victims of crime and abuse and their experiences, with particular attention to its implications and applications in the employment sector.
The course consists of 3 sessions and will be held by:

Dr. ARIANNA PIERMARINI, psychologist specializing in criminology and forensic psychiatry;

CSU Victimology Training - 2023
The Victimology Course for officials of the Central Trade Union of San Marino will start on May 31, 2023 and will consist of 3 appointments.
The course will be taught by
Prof LUCA CIMINO, Italian society of victimology and scientific director of the victimology course,
Prof CRISTIANO DEPALMAS scientific director of the master's degree in criminology,
Dr. ARIANNA PIERMARINI psychologist specialized in criminology and forensic psychiatry
Commissioner Gilberto Felici, judge of the ECHR (European Court of Human Rights).
They will deal with topics related to the introduction of the subject, identification and characteristics of the victim and people at risk, classification of the phenomenon according to social and professional fields and categories of people, manifestations and clinical aspects, aid network, approach to dialogue, cultural approach to the victim, good practices. Regulatory and legal aspects will also be addressed.
