The Memory Study Center of the Department of Human Sciences of the University of San Marino promotes a project to enhance San Marino individual and family memories and to guarantee their conservation, protection and enhancement: the Multimedia Archive of San Marino memories (AMMS). The project was created to rediscover the private and unpublished film heritage of San Marino, a precious visual testimony of local history, and to promote the writing of autobiographical memoirs that retrace individual experiences, inherent to the family or public sphere.
The AMMS will be made up of two sections: Amateur films section (contact person Maria Elena D'Amelio) and Writing section (contact person Patrizia Di Luca).
The National Archive of Family Films Home Movies of Bologna and the National Diary Archive of Pieve Santo Stefano are collaborating on the project.
The project involves the collection of family, amateur and private films and personal diaries and writings, and is aimed at San Marino citizens residing within the Republic of San Marino or abroad, residents and people coming from other States - including Italy - and those who have an emotional bond with the Republic of San Marino.
The University will include the contents in the archive and will digitize them thanks to the collaboration with Home Movies of Bologna, the national family film archive, and the National Diary Archive of Pieve Santo Stefano.
