Biographical profile
Patrizia Violi (Bologna, August 14, 1949) is an Italian linguist and semiologist. She collaborated with Umberto Eco. She is currently a full professor of Semiotics at the University of Bologna. She is part of the editorial staff of the semiotic journal “Versus”, for which she has edited several monographic issues. She is the director of the Center on Memory at the University of San Marino.
