The course focuses on the general criteria regarding the main phases for the construction of road infrastructures such as the choice and qualification of materials used, the construction of the work and verification tests. At the end of the training course the student will have to acquire the basic knowledge for the structural design of road pavements.

Course content
Materials and road construction: Types of pavements, soils, subsurface and embankment construction, stabilization techniques, aggregates, cement mix, foundation layer construction, bitumen and bituminous binders, bituminous conglomerate, the construction of layers in bituminous conglomerate, the mechanical characteristics of the bituminous conglomerate, special wear layers.
