Research interests

The research activity is concentrated in the field of mathematics and its teaching, with a predominant focus on the diagrammatic reasoning from an ontological and semiotic perspective. Within this scope, the different configurations of knowledge involved in a variety of mathematical problems are analyzed, with the aim of subsequently applying these results in two research areas: 1) in the initial and continuous training of mathematics teachers; 2) in the training of future engineers.

Effective teaching requires a solid foundation of teacher training, and to this end, opportunities are created to develop both teaching and mathematical skills among teachers and student teachers. In this context, research focuses mainly on the development of teaching techniques and professional skills, using the research-based design as the main methodology and starting from specifically studied mathematical problems as a starting point.
