Vision
Il University Security Training Center (CUFS) was born in 2010 within the Department of Legal Studies of the University.
With the establishment of the CUFS, it was intended to start a process where, alongside the initial discussion of more purely legal issues, an area of excellence was created aimed at study and application of Criminological and Forensic Sciences and Criminalistics, with a specific focus on the sectors of Security and Intelligence, up to the very recent openings towards the macro areas of Geopolitics and Internationalization.
The experience of the Research Center in this interdisciplinary area has developed over the years, passing from an approach originally focused on scientific research and training activity, to one more oriented towards the application of the discipline and the resolution of problems connected to the field of security.
Starting from this first phase, the CUFS, thanks also to the numerous professional skills and competences acquired over time, is now proposed as a International Center of Excellence for the analysis, study, dissemination, innovation and growth of Sciences related to the sectors of Security, Defense and Intelligence at an international level.
This also through the planning, development, implementation and promotion of study, research, training, dissemination and networking activities aimed at directing and promoting the growth and innovation of the methodological and technological know-how of public bodies and organizations and private sector of the Security, Defense & Intelligence, but also of specialists, technicians, experts, professionals and scholars as well as for all those who have a particular interest in these issues.
For this reason, CUFS is strongly committed to providing a comprehensive and integrated vision of Security Sciences through the definition of strategic scenarios, the framework of methodologies, resources and sector techniques and the relative knowledge of existing and developing systems and solutions, also with a view to supporting the activities carried out by public and private institutions.
Mission
The University Security Training Center is concretely engaged in educational activities and scientific dissemination through conferences, workshops, seminars and advanced training courses, aimed at creating a system of skills and professionalism capable of orienting themselves in the reality of new scenarios and responding to the challenges posed by emerging threats, providing effective Analysis, Investigation and Intelligence, aimed at combating crime, illicit trafficking, terrorism and any other relevant asymmetric threat on an international level.
This by means of aorganisers' activities delivered in both theoretical and practical form, that:
- allows the integrated analysis of the Security, Defence, Intelligence and Territorial Risk scenarios;
- allows knowledge of the many aspects related to threats, contrast strategies and individual and environmental protection due to the different risk profiles;
- provides the skills related to tools and technologies used in the different operational contexts.
