The Department of Economics, Science, Engineering and Design of the University of San Marino, within the scope of the competences defined by the University Statute, promotes, coordinates and organizes scientific and educational activities within the following research areas: design, civil engineering, management engineering, construction and land management, management, biomedical sciences, technology, focusing attention on innovation and the connection between different cultural areas.
In particular, the Department develops the applied research on innovations in the fields of engineering, management, design, science and their direct impact on the economy and society, through a sustainable program of teaching and research initiatives. Departmental scientific activities on the one hand aim to train human resources to high level professional and scientific skills, on the other hand they aim to constitute, on some specific themes, a reference point nello national and international scenario, with particular attention to the redevelopment of teaching by responding to the needs of high formation for civil society. The Department also promotes non-continuous activities, such as seminars e workshop on topics of particular scientific, civil and social interest.
The Research Center for Biomedical Studies operates within the Department.
The Department also participates in LEI interdepartmental group, Gender identity education laboratory, born in 2021 with the aim of carrying out activities and projects relating to equal opportunities and the fight against gender violence.
