The project aims to enhance the film heritage of the Republic of San Marino, both the institutional one preserved at the Cineteca degli Istituti Culturali, and the family, amateur, industrial, and experimental audiovisual memories collected in the territory of San Marino.

Learning outcomes

Lifelong education in the field of media literacy and cinematographic and audiovisual culture;
Preserve and promote the historical memory and audiovisual cultural heritage of the Republic of San Marino, with a focus on education in audiovisual language and strengthening community ties through historical images;

Expected results

Organization of workshops, seminars and laboratories open to citizens and schools, aimed at educating on the importance of audiovisual heritage and its preservation.

possible meetings and in-depth discussions with entertainment professionals.

Status of works


Memories on film

Following the digitization of the material collected and donated to the project by the citizens of San Marino, a dedicated section was created on the Memoryscapes portal of the Home Movies Foundation, a project partner, with 72 clips. The archive can be viewed at the following link:



Memories on Film – San Marino

The research project continues with the collection of further material and the future creation of specific exhibitions.

Public restitution event:

March 9, 2026 – 5:00 PM – Aula Magna of the Department of Human Sciences

First public presentation of the project, organized in collaboration with the RSM Cultural Institutes, the Home Movies Foundation, the Oltre Foundation and the National Gallery of the Republic of San Marino, with the patronage of the Secretariat of State for Internal Affairs and the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture
