Direction

The Department Director is responsible for the management and promotion of scientific and educational activities and represents it in all its scientific-academic aspects. He is the guarantor of the legality and ethics of the transparent management of all the Department's activities and takes the relevant decisions of the Department in a collegial manner.
Furthermore, he convenes and presides over the Department Council, ensures the implementation of the Council's resolutions, appoints the examination commissions according to the indications of the Academic Senate, draws up the annual plan of the Department's teaching and research activities, preparing the related organizational tools and submits it to the Academic Senate; annually prepares the requests for funding and assignment of scientific personnel for the implementation of the research and teaching activity development and enhancement programs.

For all managerial, administrative and economic tasks, the Director is assisted by the Department Coordinator.

Director DSG: Prof. Luciano Canfora

The Director designates, from among the professors of the Department Council, a Deputy Director who replaces him in all his functions in case of impediment or temporary absence.
