Over one hundred participants in the initiative, which is part of the master's degree in International Security Studies

Two of the most experienced Italian military experts in the field of peacekeeping, authorization of the use of force and conflict resolution will participate in a seminar scheduled for Friday 14 May as part of the master's degree in International Security Studies at the University of the Republic of San Marino, for which over one hundred participants are expected.

During the initiative, entitled "United Nations Security Council in the 21st century: operations and impact", representatives of the police and armed forces will intervene such as Brigadier General Giovanni Pietro Barbano, director of the Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units of Vicenza, which mainly trains civilian and military personnel destined for use in peacekeeping missions, and Major General Stefano Del Col, head of mission and commander of the United Nations Interposition Force in South Lebanon, with a past in which he has held leadership posts since 1988 and received 18 honors, the latest being a Gold Medal for Contribution to International Cooperation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. An in-depth study by Luca Gorgolini, professor at the University of San Marino, entitled "Lebanon: a country without peace" is also planned.

Friday's appointment, which will take place electronically on the Microsoft Teams platform, will involve those enrolled in the master's program and around one hundred students from the Military Academy of Modena. The initiative is managed by the University of San Marino together with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
