RELATIONAL ANIMALS

Man is an animal. Constantly searching for a place in the world. Domineering, yet bound by nature.
Humans are social animals. Connected, bound, attracted. Ritualistic and non-ritual. Dependent on the group and sometimes leading it. A node in a three-dimensional network that over time attempts to piece together a broad and complex context. Nature, humanity, (multi)culture.

Design is relationship. First a tool for contact, then activation and interaction. Critical reflection, encouragement, challenge. And the design school, a place for community thought and action. A micro-community like the one in San Marino. Where design opens up to new forms. And so design disguises itself as an animal, dons a magical mask, and also narrates the life we ​​cannot observe. Teachers and students participate collectively in the cultural project. The school transcends the technical approach of industrial design and opens itself to the development of a path in which conceptualization and content are at the heart of the project.

The installation investigates and highlights the plurality of relationships that emerge from the university teaching and research process. The system of relationships at the San Marino School of Design is on display. The exhibited objects are key to the interaction between guest, content, and author. The narrative originates from physical models and fills the architectural space with interactive projections that express, in multiple languages, the narrative metaphor of an interconnected animal world. The installation evokes places of knowledge and imagination: libraries, squares, landscapes, horizons.
