The Interuniversity Research Center for "Studies on Tradition" and the "Girolamo Tartarotti" Civic Library of Rovereto, with the sponsorship of the Laterza Publishers and the Dioguardi Foundation, are organizing the conference "Tradition and conservation: archives Rovereto between ancient and modern”.

The conference aims to draw the attention of specialists and the public to the precious book and archival collections of the city of Rovereto, a material of extraordinary importance for the history of Italian and European culture and, in particular, for the tradition of classical studies.

They range from fifteenth-century manuscripts that hand down texts inspired by Aesop's fables to unpublished papers by great antiquarians and protagonists of Italian culture of the last century, such as Concetto Marchesi, Mario Untersteiner, Federico Halbherr, Ettore Romagnoli and Duilio Cambellotti.
Texts that are still largely unpublished will be discussed, offering updates on the research that scholars from various universities and various specializations are conducting on the Rovereto collections.
