TACTUS Radio Festival is an international Radio Art project promoted by Usmaradio. In the spaces of the Antico Monastero Santa Chiara, the festival offers three days of the art of listening open to the public: listening, narrations, round tables, performances, live radio broadcasts and podcasts. Participants have the opportunity to interact with protagonists of the institutional and independent radio scene, podcasting and international sound art.
What tactus means: in the music of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, tactus is the unit of measurement of time, expressed by the gesture of the hand. The actual duration refers to the heartbeat, thus strongly connecting music, body and sensoriality.
Some of the participants' interventions will subsequently be part of a volume edited by Usmaradio and due out, in Italian and English, in 2024. A manual focused on Radio Art and radio experimentation through contributions from those who make and think about radio every day and they listen to it. TACTUS Radio Festival is a project of Usmaradio – Research Center for Radio of the University of the Republic of San Marino.
