Professor
Paolo TartariniLearning objectives
The course aims to provide the student with the essential notions for the calculation and design of thermotechnical heating and air conditioning systems, with particular regard to residential construction.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, participating students must be able to address and discuss problems of design and verification of air conditioning systems in civil and industrial buildings. In particular, they must be familiar with the regulatory framework of San Marino and Italy, with the main calculation and design methodologies and with the reference standard values.
Course content
Recall of Technical Physics: thermodynamics and heat transmission. Thermotechnical systems: heating and air conditioning. Definitions, classifications and current regulations. Details of calculation and design of systems: components, yields and energy efficiency. Examples of calculation of heating systems and air conditioning systems. Cogeneration and district heating. Combined cycles. Economic analysis of civil and industrial systems.
Prerequisites
None within the master's degree. A good knowledge of Technical Physics from a bachelor's degree is essential.
