Biographical profile
Massimo Cicognani received the Degree in Mathematics from the University of Bologna (summa cum laude) in 1983 (supervisor Lamberto Cattabriga) and the PhD in Mathematics from the University of Bologna in 1988 (supervisor Lamberto Cattabriga).
He has been Full Professor of Mathematical Analysis at the University of Bologna since 1 October 2006.
He has participated, giving lectures by invitation, in many international congresses.
He has been invited to hold seminars at various international research institutes.
He has organized international conferences and seminars.
He initiated young people in search.
He deals with Microlocal Analysis, with a good position of the Cauchy problem for hyperbolic operators and for evolution operators.
He has published about 50 scientific papers.
He is a referee for many international journals and a reviewer for MathSciNet.
He teaches courses in Mathematical Analysis at all levels.
He has held various positions within academic bodies and was a commissioner in comparative evaluations for a university professor.
Full professor at the University of Bologna since 2006, he carries out his research in the field of Microlocal Analysis, the good position of the Cauchy problem for hyperbolic operators and for evolution operators.
