Short Bio profile

Barbara Bigliardi graduated with honors in Management Engineering from the University of Parma. In 2008 you obtained the title of PhD in Industrial Engineering.

He is an associate professor for the SSD ING-IND/35 (Economic-Management Engineering) at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Parma. He holds the national scientific qualification for the role of full professor for the SSD ING-IND/35 Economic-Management Engineering, obtained in August 2018.

Since 1 January 2020 he has been President of the Management Engineering Course of Study at the University of Parma, and since 1 October 2020 he has been Director of the Bachelor's Degree Course and the Master's Degree Course in Management Engineering at the University of San Marino.

He is Deputy Coordinator of the Research Doctorate in Industrial Engineering at the University of Parma, and Coordinator of the Research Doctorate in Economic-Management Engineering at the University of San Marino.

Since 2004 he has been a member of AiIG, the Italian Association of Management Engineering. He is President of the National Observatory on start-ups and Vice President of the National Observatory on the Reputation of Confactions.

He is currently a teacher of the "Business Economics" course (12 CFU), Management Engineering Degree Course at the University of Parma and the University of San Marino, of the "Marketing Management" course (9 CFU), Master's Degree Course in Management Engineering University of Parma, and of the “Industrial Marketing” course (6 CFU), Master's Degree Course in Management Engineering University of San Marino. She has been supervisor of over 400 bachelor's and master's theses in Management Engineering.

She is the author of over 150 publications, including 87 articles in international journals indexed on the SCOPUS database, several special issue editorials and articles presented at national and/or international conferences, as well as several book chapters with international circulation. She was the Editor of a book of international importance entitled “The Space Economy: From Science to Market” (Cambridge Scholars Publishing). It boasts over 2600 citations on Scopus (H-index=28). He is a member of the Editorial Board of several international scientific journals (eg, European Journal of Innovation Management, Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market and Complexity, Sustainability). She has been track chair for numerous national (AiIG) and international conferences (eg, ISM – The International Conference on Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing, IFKAD – International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics).

Research interests

The research activity focuses mainly on the themes of innovation, and open innovation in particular, sustainability and digitalisation.
