Biographical profile
Dr. VITTORIO VITALE was born in Rimini on 29 August 1949 and has always lived in his hometown.
He obtained his scientific high school diploma in 1969 at the Liceo Scientifico “A. Serpieri” of Rimini and in 1977 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Modena.
Specializations
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the University of Pavia on date 19/11/1984 (with points 45/50) discussing a thesis on "Muscle stimulation electrotherapy in the rehabilitation treatment of developmental age scoliosis, comparing the LESS method and the SPESS method".
Sports medicine at the University of Verona on date 19/07/1988 (with points 68/70) discussing a thesis on the "Support of IR Laser Therapy in the Physiotherapy treatment of minor ankle injuries in sports”.
He curated his own update by participating in Conferences, Seminars and Courses of Updates within Rehabilitation and Sports Medicinedeepening the studies on rachis pathologies: Paramorphisms and Dysmorphisms; traumatic pathologies e degenerative spine and the musculoskeletal system, with particular interest in problems due to herniated discs and acute and chronic shoulder injuries; also presenting their own scientific works and reports.
He studied therapeutic aspects inherent in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by attending training courses and masters in Manual Medicine and Vertebral Manipulation, Homeopathy and Homotoxicology, Posturology, Infiltrative techniques, Oxygen/Ozone therapy.
With the positions of responsibility held in the Districts of the Rimini USL, he then deepened the issues related to disability and handicap, becoming the expert responsible for the prescription and supply of prostheses and aids for the disabled. For years he has managed relations with local institutions for social problems deriving from chronic disability in order to re-enter the disabled in the social and productive context.
He has participated in courses and seminars on these issues, creating links with structures and institutions that operate on the socio-educational level, participating in and managing regional projects concerning the paths of socialization and rehabilitation of disabled people.
In this respect, together with the health and social workers of the Handicap Sector (for which he was responsible), assistance and planning courses were designed, developed and implemented in the socio-educational and job placement fields, becoming one of the reference points of the Regional Department for Social Policies, compared to multidisciplinary intervention system for territorial rehabilitation assistance and reintegration of the severely physically disabledin society and in the world of work. (on the base of Individualized Unique Projects, Warehouse overall recovery of the person). For example: ASHIA regional project in which four USL companies in the region were involved and which created a guideline for intervention on severely acquired disabled people.
Prosthesis/Aids supply manager has always set the supply on the appropriateness of the aid and personalized supply in order to optimize spending, participated in the XNUMXst purchasing group with a single tender, of aids for the Vasta Romagna area, drawing up specifications tender technically oriented towards the appropriateness of the supply with respect to the disability.
Professional experiences
June/September 1978: (at the same time as the Hospital Practical Internship in the branch of General Surgery) carries out activities of cGeneral medicine consultant at some "Holiday Homes" for children in the area of Bellaria-Igea Marina and Cesenatico.
October/December 1978: General Practitioner for Mutual Institutions and NPF Emergency Medical Doctor for the Rimini Social Health Consortium (subsequently merged into the Rimini Local Health Authority).
January/February 1979: Surgeon assistant at the Emergency Department and Astanteria service of the “Infermi” Hospital in Rimini.
March/June 1979: Consultant at the "Casa di Cura Villa Salus" private clinic of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Rimini.
July 1979/September 1980: Substitute Assistant Surgeon to TP at the General Surgery Division of the Civil Hospital of Verucchio (the Division also included an Obstetrics and Gynecology service and an Emergency Department)
September 1980/November 1990: Assistant Surgeon, then assigned to the role of TP, at the Emergency Department and Astanteria service of the "Infermi" Hospital in Rimini, except for the period: July 1989/March 1990, in which he assumes a position of TP Physiatrist Assistant at the Recovery and Functional Re-education Service of the same hospital.
November 1990, winner of a public competition, assumes the position of Assistant Physiatrist to TP at the Recovery and Functional Re-education Service of the “Infermi” Hospital in Rimini; becoming in May 1993, after regular public competition, Assistant/Hospital Assistant, Physiatrist in role. Qualification subsequently transformed into:
- 1st Level Medical Director of Recovery and Functional Re-education then
- Medical Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
From 01/12/2001 al 30/03/2006, after regular selection, he gets nomination of
Director of Complex Structure (= Primary), in the discipline of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the UOC Rehabilitation and Prosthetic Assistance of the Department of Primary Care of the District of Rimini (Resolution of the Rimini Local Health Authority n.1100/01), which it associates from 01/02/02 appointment ad "interim" on the same role as Director of Complex Structure, also for the similar Unit of Rehabilitation and Prosthetic Assistance of the Department of Primary Care of the District of Riccione.
From this date (30/03/2006), definitively leaves his post as employee of the Az. USL of Rimini and the NHS with all the tasks entrusted to him, to start the activity of Freelancer and consultant in various rehabilitation health structures.
Consulting activity
At the same time as a doctor employed by the Local Health Authority Rimini, he is authorized to be a consultant in various structures:
July 1986/December 1994: Physiatrist consultant at the Social Center for Serious Neurolesi del Italo-Swiss Educational Center “Remo Bordoni” Rimini – Moral Body (outside working hours and free of charge, authorized by the Rimini Local Health Authority).
1998/2003: Teaching assignments in “Physiotherapy-Rehabilitation” and in "Impairments and Handicaps”, At:
the Nursing School of the Rimini Local Health Authority;
ENAIP Rimini in training courses for Support Teachers (Regional c.si);

On behalf of the Az. USL Rimini, he has held various positions with the following duties:
Appointment of the General Manager of the Az. USL Rimini, which one Company Representative in the regional working group for prosthetic assistance; DG 26-05-1995 prot.n. 19665.
Appointment of the Health Directorate of the Rimini Local Health Authority, which Company Representative at the Emilia Romagna region, for the application of the New Tariff Nomenclator of prostheses and aids = DM 27-08-1999 n.332 published in the GU n.227 of 27-09-1999.
Left the Rimini Local Health Authority did the activity specialist as a freelancer in the discipline of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, covering various positions, at as many private health facilities, Accredited with the NHS:

From April 2009 to August 2014 he is also a consultant at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service of the San Marino State Hospital (ISSRSM)
Performs since 2009, after regular SIOOT training, the activity of Oxygen/Ozone therapy in two recognized and recommended SIOOT/ASOO clinics: Poliambul. “TIBERIUS” Rimini (specialist clinic with physiotherapy and rehabilitation gym) and Poliambul. Special. “St. MICHELE" Santarcangelo of Romagna (in which all the Oxygen/Ozone techniques are applied tp. provided by the SIOOT scientific protocols).
He carries out the freelance activity of physiatrist also in other clinics in the Rimini area, mainly interested in problems of the vertebral column, of para-dysmorphisms of the developmental age, infiltrative therapies with particular regard to the musculoskeletal system; he also practices Omeo-meso-therapy.
In his profession he has always tried to combine professionalism and humanity, passion for his work and knowledge of the subject, analysing the overall appearance of the person suffering, addressing not only the symptom, but seeking the cause of the problem to accompany the person towards a path of improvement until the eventual recovery or acceptance of the after-effects.
Teaching activity
He held various teaching positions, always in the specialty of Physiotherapy-Rehabilitation and Impairments and Handicaps, At:
- the Nursing School of the Rimini Local Health Authority;
- ENAIP Rimini in training courses for Support Teachers (Regional c.si);
- Various professional training bodies (ECAP – EFESO – IRECOOP) for the training or retraining of personnel assigned to basic assistance.

Appointed for the years 2012 and 2013, as a teacher at the "II level Master" in Oxygen/Ozone Therapy, from the University of Pavia; on the topic: Oxygen/Ozone therapy in Rehabilitation.
Appointed for the years 2013 and 2014 as a teacher at the "II level Master" in Geriatric Medicine, from the University of the Republic of S. Marino in collaboration with The University of Ferrara; on the topic: "Indications Appropriateness and Use of Aids for the Disabled and in the Elderly".
Final consideration
Always a supporter of the integration of mind and body, to deal with all pathologies, try to always identify and address the cause of the problem found, without dwelling only on the symptom. He has always set up his own intervention and treatment plan, taking into account all the patient's physical and psychological aspects, so that individual therapies and treatments are not only accepted, but shared.
Operating mainly in rehabilitation, he supports the work in a multi-professional team, in which he is responsible for the therapeutic projects and programs, coordinating the intervention of the various professionals, always in compliance with the maximum appropriateness of the intervention with the patient's diagnosis and clinic.
All work is set on make the patient aware of his/her disorder and illness (or in this case of the rehabilitation process, of one's disability), so that, going beyond the simple relationship of trust in the doctor and in the therapy, one can obtain the maximum collaboration and doctor/team/patient integration, overcoming the concept of passive delegation in the therapeutic process, but emphasizing the participation in the improvement: overcoming the symptom, recovery of disabilities, up to (if possible) the recovery project, however always with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life.
