Specific Learning Disabilities (DSA) have a strong impact both on an individual level and
at a social level, with a reduction in the realization of social and work potential. Although, in Italy, these disorders are still underdiagnosed, recognized late or confused with other disorders, their prevalence affects an important portion of the population in developmental age.
A relevant characteristic is the comorbidity of multiple specific learning disorders or the co-presence of other neuropsychological and psychopathological disorders. These associations must not be underestimated as studies show that poor performance experienced in the early years of primary school represents an important stress factor, which can cause anxiety disorders during adolescence and into adulthood which significantly influence the quality of life and future psychosocial adaptation: these difficulties necessarily also involve parents, who indirectly experience their children's successes or failures and, with their attitude, influence their responses to them.
By comparing the quality of life linked to the health of children with Specific Learning Disabilities, with respect to a group of peers, substantial differences can emerge, both overall and in individual aspects such as: self-esteem, relationships with friends, functioning at school, relationship with family, emotional and physical well-being.
This research aims to identify, in accordance with the scientific studies present in the bibliography di possible differences significant between children with I disturb Specific to Learning and a group of peers, analyzing the responses relating to school well-being, quality of life and psychological aspects of the child and finally psychological aspects of the parent.
The focus addressed within this paper also aims to investigate the differences that emerge with respect to the perception of the child's quality of life both by the child himself and by
part of the parent and with respect to the presence of associated behavioral problems.
