Among the guests scholars who "opened new scenarios for early identification processes"
The next international seminars of the European Dyslexia Association (EDA), a non-governmental organization involving around forty entities from over twenty countries, will be hosted on Titan by the University of the Republic of San Marino on Friday 30 June and Saturday 1 July.
In the historic centre, inside the university headquarters of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, academics from Italy, Malta, England, Scotland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and beyond will speak in front of an audience of students and insiders.
"In particular - notes Giacomo Stella, director of the Center for the Study and Applied Research on Dyslexia of the University of San Marino - Silvia Paracchini, geneticist at St. Andrews University and coordinator of an international research group will be among the many prestigious speakers who examined the DNA of one million subjects, identifying the genes responsible for the various forms that neurodevelopmental disorders take. This – underlines the director of the two Masters on the subject offered by the University of San Marino, founder of the Italian Dyslexia Association – has opened up new scenarios for early identification processes”.
Together with Paracchini's in-depth analysis, entitled "The genetics of dyslexia", analyzes will be proposed on topics such as the life prospects of dyslexics, the inclusion of adults in universities and workplaces, the perception of teachers in the context of education and the use of video games to involve children aged 7 to 11 in the classroom. All with the aim of bridging the gaps that sometimes exist between research, policies and practical experiences.
