At the University of San Marino the presentation of the new book on civil law signed by judge Valeria Pierfelici

The text was published by AIEP Editore in a series in collaboration with the University

"An important volume that fills a void: in a reality, like that of San Marino, which is not based on a civil code, this text focuses in the most appropriate way on the rules of relations between private individuals". These are the words with which Paolo Pascucci, director of the Juridical Institute of the University of the Republic of San Marino, describes the book "Outlines of San Marino civil law" by Valeria Pierfelici, judge of the Court of Titano, recently published by AIEP Editore in part of a series curated in collaboration with the University. The book, which will be presented on Wednesday 15 March at 15 pm in the headquarters of the former Court, in via Salita alla Rocca 44, "is not just a manual, but a treatise that deals with a fundamental matter", Pascucci points out. “Unlike Italy and most European countries, civil law in San Marino is not based on a civil code but on principles of common law which derive their ancestry from Roman and intermediate law, with respect to which the interpretation of judges is even more important". In addition to Pierfelici and Pascucci, Anna Maria Giomaro, professor at the University of Urbino, Giovanni Canzio, manager of the Court of Titano, Francesca Fiecconi, adviser to the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation, and Alfredo Nicolini, president of the Order of Lawyers and Notaries of the Titano, who collaborated in organizing the initiative. The floor also to the Law Commissioner Francesco Santoni and to the Commissioner Elia Zaghini. The initiative is sponsored by the Secretariat of State for Justice and the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture. Speeches by Massimo Ugolini and Andrea Belluzzi are expected.
