A course of study lasting over 150 hours dedicated to training forensic technicians, the professionals who assist and support judges in civil, criminal, administrative, and accounting proceedings, exploring technical issues. This is the new advanced training course at the University of the Republic of San Marino, starting in the 2019-2020 academic year and aimed at engineers, architects, surveyors, industrial experts, agronomists, and geologists, as well as lawyers and accountants. "Just as in the medical field, judges rely on doctors to make assessments regarding autopsies or similar activities, in the engineering field, technical analyses are entrusted to experts specialized in fields such as architecture or urban planning, within proceedings that may deal, for example, with damage to a building or its collapse." Scientific Director Ermete Dalprato describes the course's content: "The program will train professionals to fill highly sensitive and important roles, as they will translate technical assessments into the language and procedures of judicial proceedings, while ensuring they are comprehensible to the judge and the parties involved, as well as adhering to certain fundamental rules, including those of professional ethics." To meet these needs, the course is divided into three modules: procedural law, territorial technical law, and design technical law.
Finally, the program has already received approval from professional technical bodies and organizations both in Italy and on the island: "We have also been recognized by the Italian Bar Association, for example, and by the San Marino accountants. In addition to professionals already working in their respective fields, the program is aimed at recent graduates. Incidentally, the University of San Marino will soon be receiving its first graduates from the three-year Construction and Land Management program, which is designed for surveyors and is ahead of its time compared to the rest of the country, where similar programs were launched later. For our students, this program represents an excellent opportunity and offers continuity to the path they have already undertaken."
Registration is open until August 20th. For more information, visit www.unirsm.sm, in the "course offering" section.
