Former Italian intelligence officials, armed forces officers, analysts working in the United States, and Interpol officials will be among the faculty members of the first edition of the Master's in International Security Studies, organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino and the University of International Studies of Rome.
One of the main objectives of the postgraduate program is to train professionals prepared to operate in the international security sector and serve in organizations such as the armed forces, private business intelligence companies, and institutions active in the security field.
The proposed topics will be addressed to understand and analyze possible responses to national and global security challenges, with particular attention to the approaches of the United States and Western Europe. Within the framework of so-called "global threats," issues such as nuclear weapons proliferation, transnational terrorism, the spread of violent extremism, illicit channels for terrorist financing, cybercrime, climate change, and threatened food and water resources appear. The curriculum will combine geopolitics, social and political sciences, law and international relations, constitutional traditions, macroeconomics, global cooperation, and development.
Classes will be held at the two participating universities, with some events in Rome and others on Mount Titano. Registration is open until February 20th. Partners include Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians – Harvard Medical School and Osdife, the Rome-based Observatory on Security and Defense.
