Three hours with Samanta Paladino for students of the Communication and Digital Media degree program.
Samanta Paladino, coordinator of Amnesty International Italy's online communication strategies and campaigns, held a seminar today at the University of the Republic of San Marino, where she shared with students in the Communication and Digital Media degree program the details, horizons, and characteristics of her profession, which she has developed over 18 years of experience.
After describing the composition, internal organization, and strategies of Amnesty International Italy's Digital Unit, he addressed what he considers one of the main issues of the moment: the rise of authoritarianism at the European and global levels.
In the second part of the three-hour meeting, she led a workshop in which she involved students in designing a real digital communications campaign, including the phases of ideation, planning, target identification, channel selection, and tone definition.
The seminar, titled "Digital Communication for Human Rights in the Age of Rise of Authoritarian Practices in Europe," was held as part of Professor Luca Gorgolini's course "Globalization and Digital Society." Its aims included providing useful skills for analyzing the communication strategies of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and social movements, while also examining the role of global media, technologies, and digital platforms in constructing transnational imaginaries and identities.
