From 1 to 3 December 2023, a series of appointments with the protagonists of the international scene
Artists, authors, reporters and academics from organizations such as Radio24, Rai Radiotre, Ravenna Festival and the Bauhaus University of Weimar will be the protagonists of TACTUS Radio Festival, a three-day event that will bring performances to the historic center of Titano from 1 to 3 December 2023, debates, listening sessions, narratives, round tables, podcasts and concerts.
The initiative, produced by the University of the Republic of San Marino and curated by Usmaradio - Research Center for Radio, includes a series of in-depth studies that will range from art to journalism, from academic research to technological innovation, thanks to the participation of figures such as the director of the San Marino RTV radio and television broadcaster, Andrea Vianello, the head of contents of RaiPlay Sound, Andrea Borgnino, the writer and translator Gabriele Frasca, who recently edited the "Meridiano" Beckett for the Mondadori publishing house, and Gianluca Nicoletti, pioneer of the relationship between radio and internet. On the table are experiences and analyzes on areas such as Radio Art, the work of war reporters, podcasting and the contribution of artificial intelligence.
Organized under the artistic direction of Roberto Paci Dalò, professor of the University of San Marino and director of Usmaradio - Research Center for Radio, the festival will take place in the university headquarters of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, in the Omerelli 20 district, with the patronage of the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture and of the Secretariat of State for Tourism.
On the calendar, at 19 pm on Saturday 2 December, the "Continuum" concert, a collaborative radio network performance which will involve, in addition to the artists present in the room, musicians such as Anna Friz, connected from Santa Cruz, California, and the Bauhaus Radio Ensemble from Weimar. The event will be broadcast live by a selection of broadcasters including San Marino RTV (in FM, digital terrestrial and satellite which can be listened to all over the world), bauhaus.fm (Weimar), Wave Farm (New York), Radio Raheem and Radio Tsonami (Chile).
The entire three days, which will be broadcast live on Usmaradio, was presented today in a press conference in which Paci Dalò and the Secretary of State Andrea spoke at the headquarters of the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture. Belluzzi. “In 2024 we will celebrate 100 years of Radio Art, radio which includes fiction, radio drama and experimentation,” recalled the director of Usmaradio. “With our broadcaster in recent years we have worked to place San Marino on the global map of the most innovative radio. Now TACTUS Radio Festival allows us to meet on Titan the people who are the pioneers of radio and podcasting around the world. With this first edition we are also starting an important collaboration with San Marino RTV, hoping for further synergies and future joint planning".
“Initiatives like this – underlined Belluzzi – contribute to the high value of the cultural events offered in the area and with an international dimension that recognizes the efforts made by the University, primarily with its teachers and researchers, in
respective reference sectors. These are people who represent a real added value for the entire San Marino system, because they inspire and motivate us with new stimuli, ideas and skills. Hence my trust and support towards the curators of this type of initiative, opportunities for growth for each of us and for the entire community".
The initiative is supported by the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture and by Transcultures – Pépinières Européennes de Création. Free admission. More information at www.usmaradio.org/tactusfestival.
