Call for Volunteers at the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean "School of Waters"

Site-specific installations, videos, performances, and projections by 70 artists from the Mediterranean region will be exhibited at the design degree program in the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, the National Gallery, the SUMS Palace, the First Tower, the Ancient Cisterns of the Palazzo Pubblico, and the Titano Theater.

School of Waters It aims to be a temporary and nomadic school for reflecting on the nationalisms and Eurocentric stereotypes that influence the conception of the Mediterranean from a geographical, political, social and cultural point of view.

School of Waters is structured around a critical reexamination of the material and symbolic agency of water, from a profound geopolitical and ecological perspective. The desire to learn from water demonstrates a desire to defuse nationalisms and rediscover the aquatic syncretism that has shaped the Mediterranean as a complex platform of life forms and learning processes. MEDITERRANEA 19 is seen as an ecology of practices capable of traversing a multiplicity of spaces, resonating with the specificity of a small state like the Republic of San Marino.

The degree courses of the University of the Republic of San Marino are promoting with the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Cultural Institutes and the international association BJCEM of a call for applications for University students to assist the staff of the Biennale in welcoming guests, in organizing activities and visiting itineraries, in providing information to the public during the days of iinauguration of the event.
