Approximately 200 participants attended the University of San Marino seminar on road maintenance and public greenery.

Approximately 200 people, including technicians involved in road network management in cities such as Ravenna, Bagno di Romagna, Urbino, and Ancona, attended the seminar "Road Maintenance Management and Interaction with Public Green Spaces," held at the Palazzo del Turismo in Riccione last Thursday, February 20, organized by the Civil Engineering degree program at the University of the Republic of San Marino, in collaboration with the Autonomous Company for Public Works (AASLP), the Municipality of Riccione, and Geat (Management of Environmental and Land Services of the Municipality of Riccione).

As part of the initiative, road maintenance planning and the activities carried out for San Marino's road network were the focus of a presentation by University of San Marino professor Andrea Grilli. Further in-depth discussions, which covered topics such as the life cycle analysis of road materials and the impact of excavation and paving on trees, were entrusted to leaders of agencies, organizations such as the Italian Roads and Bitumen Association, and academic institutions such as the University of Bologna. A discussion was also held featuring, among others, AASLP director Matteo Casali, San Marino Environmental and Agricultural Resources Management Office (UGRAA) director Tonino Ceccoli, and Roberto Gasperoni, president of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Federation of Associations of Agronomists. Also speaking were the mayor of Riccione, Renata Tosi, and the Secretary of State for Education and Culture of San Marino, Andrea Belluzzi, confirming the institutions' direct involvement and sensitivity to these issues.

"The broad and comprehensive participation, which involved nearly all the administrations in the area from Ravenna to Ancona, including the hinterland, confirms that the path undertaken by the University of San Marino, which has been involved in a series of seminars on the topic since 2012 with its Civil Engineering degree program, is highly appreciated," explains Grilli. "The role that San Marino is able to play by synergizing institutions such as the University, AASLP, UGRAA, and UPT is becoming increasingly important. I'd like to emphasize that the method we've adopted in San Marino, already adopted by the Fano administration, will soon be extended to Riccione as well."
