How to understand well-being and quality of life in a community? The answer in a seminar on healthcare management at the University of San Marino

Mario Bolzan, professor at the University of Padua, will be the protagonist of the third round of the cycle of meetings on social statistics and health management organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino, currently engaged in a series of research activities in this sector taken care of by the degree course in Management Engineering.

The academician will speak at 14 pm on Wednesday 15 May in the university headquarters of the World Trade Center in Dogana, tower B, third floor. Admission is free. At the center of the in-depth study are social indicators and statistical reports: "The importance of this seminar lies in the analysis proposed on social indicators, which unlike economic ones allow for the best assessment of the well-being and quality of life of a given community ”, explains Pietro Renzi, professor at the University of San Marino. “Thanks to the birth of these indicators, developed since the beginning of the 60s, concepts such as those of social exclusion, multidimensional poverty, social cohesion, quality of life, human and social capital have begun to take on meaning”.

In recent weeks, Luigi Fabbris from the University of Padua and Rob Gandy from Liverpool John Moores University have taken part in the cycle of meetings, moderated by Renzi from San Marino together with his colleague Alberto Franci. Among the main purposes of the initiative, the involvement of students and representatives of San Marino institutions active in the statistics and health sectors.
