From September 17th to 19th, an initiative on Titan in collaboration with the Association for Applied Statistics (ASA)
The growing amount of data available in areas such as health and economics, the increasingly sophisticated tools with which they can be processed, and the advent of artificial intelligence bring new opportunities for in-depth analysis, but also challenges in properly orienting, managing, and understanding them. How can academics engaged in research support policymakers, managers, and public administrations in addressing current and future emergencies in areas such as the environment, security, lifestyles, and well-being?
The international conference "Data, Statistics, and AI for the Well-Being of People and Organizations," organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino, the Association for Applied Statistics (ASA), and in partnership with the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), will provide answers on multiple levels.
From Wednesday, September 17th to Friday, September 19th, the university campus of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, in the historic center, will become a laboratory where the most advanced methods and cutting-edge applications will be discussed, addressing issues such as the aging population, gender equality, food quality, mental health, workplace stress, investments in healthcare and education. Music, transportation, corruption, tourism, and more will also be discussed.
Speakers include Massimo Fedeli, director of the Department for the Development of Methods and Technologies for the Production and Dissemination of Statistical Information at ISTAT (Italian National Institute of Statistics), Antonio Gattulli of Bio Organica Italia, and Loretta Degan, director of the Galgano Group, a consulting firm established in 1962. Academics will include Francesco Palumbo of the Federico II University of Naples and Eugenio Brentari of the University of Brescia. Pietro Renzi and Alberto Franci, professors of the Management Engineering degree program at the University of San Marino, will also speak, as will Massimo Brignoni, director of the Master's degree program in Interaction & Experience Design at the University of San Marino.
On the international front, representatives of academic institutions from Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Bolivia, and Poland will be present.
The initiative will be held under the patronage of the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture, the Secretariat of State for Health, and the Secretariat of State for Tourism.
