Two students of the master's degree course in Civil Engineering of the University of the Republic of San Marino are facing a period of study in China, precisely in the University of Fuzhou, to deepen the topics related to their degree theses. The operation, made possible thanks to the synergy between the San Marino and Chinese universities, located in the province of Fujian, will allow students Daniel Martino and Matteo Guazzarini to carry out the necessary analyzes for their projects.

From November 21st to December 4th, within the framework of this operation, the director of the Degree Course, Angelo Marcello Tarantino, visited the University of Fuzhou together with the professor Luca Lanzoni, taking the opportunity to evaluate the research topics engaged the two universities and promote the reciprocal exchange of students.

"The theses Martino and Guazzarini are working on, of an experimental nature, concern the study of non-synchronism at the base of bridge piers and the seismic isolation at the top of the foundation piles of integral bridges, without joints", explain the two academics. “Their study activities take place in the offices of the University of Fuzhou and under the supervision of professor Bruno Briseghella, president of the College of Civil Engineering of the University of Fuzhou. The inclusion of Italian and San Marino students is facilitated by the presence of the Sino-Italian Center, a recently established structure which promotes collaboration between Italian and Chinese bodies such as universities, companies and local bodies”.
