Seven videos on sustainable development from the University of San Marino for an international conference on the UN 2030 Agenda.

Seven video documentaries featuring testimonies and animated graphics, created by the University of the Republic of San Marino to describe the themes and objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the United Nations (UN), will be broadcast during the international virtual conference “Visualizing Agenda 2030 in the City”, scheduled for 26 and 27 November thanks to the organization of eorganizations such as the Italian Association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (AICCRE) and Platforma.

Curated by the staff of the University of San Marino's Design degree program in collaboration with the AEres cooperative of Venice for the Alternative Economy, the films form a journey through seven five-minute stages, offering insights into areas relating to the planet, people, partnerships, peace, and prosperity. "This project," explains Riccardo Varini, director of the three-year Design degree program, "was commissioned by AICCRE's Secretary General, Carla Rey, with the task of understanding how the goals of the 2030 Agenda can be achieved and reflected in current and future cities. The challenge was to visualize all of this effectively and concretely. In our case, we discussed Venice, continuing a journey begun a few years ago, when our students, coordinated by professor Massimo Barbierato, collaborated with a local glassworks on a project on Murano glass design. This activity," the academic continues, "is the focus of one of our videos and illustrates a good practice for education." inclusive and equitable quality, which corresponds to goal number 4 of the 2030 Agenda. It was a question of training young designers alongside master craftsmen, to reinterpret tradition”.

In addition to the seven documentaries, during the event, the University of San Marino will present a further video showcasing the activities carried out on Mount Titano last September as part of a series of workshops on Neighborhood Design: one hundred students, five designers, and seven tutors developed a series of projects designed to revitalize neglected collective spaces, envisioning services, products, furnishings, visual communication projects, and interactive experiments.

The conference will feature speeches by figures such as Haoliang Xu, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Bureau of Policy and Programme Support; Stefano Bonaccini, President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, President of AICCRE and President of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR); and Adriana Acosta, Deputy Director of the Strategic Development Directorate of the Cuban Ministry of Economy and Planning.
