From the University of San Marino a new name for one of the most strategic technological and commercial centers of the Titan

The now former World Trade Center in Dogana becomes SMHUB

One of the Titan's reference structures from a commercial, as well as technological and residential point of view, changes its name thanks to a partnership with the University of the Republic of San Marino: the now former World Trade Center of Dogana becomes SMHUB, with a new logo developed by the Design degree course.

The path that led to the definition of the project, started together with Chiara Morganti Amministrazioni Condominali and now entrusted to Quadrifoglio Service, involved academics and students of the University of San Marino on the one hand, and representatives of the various activities and tenants of the structure on the other , who chose one of the three different solutions proposed. During the meeting that led to the choice, carried out through a vote carried out in person, the applications of each logo on signs, letterheads and so on were illustrated.

“The objective – explains Emma Corbelli from the University staff – was to support the different souls of the complex, in which realities working on innovation, technology, marketing and commerce meet, also including those who live there. The chosen logo will be available in three colors to represent the identified areas. The name, San Marino HUB, immediately underlines and summarizes the centrality of the space in the context in which it is located".

Developed under the coordination of Corbelli and the deputy director of the master's degree course in Interaction & Experience Design at the University of San Marino, Silvia Gasparotto, the project involved the students Linda Ciandrini and Giacomo Fabbri together with their colleague Giulia Costantini, author of the logo selected.

Completed in 2004 and composed of two main eleven-storey buildings, the current SMHUB extends over approximately 47.000 square meters and was designed by the British studio Foster & Partners, who defined it as a "combination of offices, apartments and free time" created to establish itself as a "magnet for future development" of the Titan. On the third floor of tower B, it houses the headquarters of the degree courses in Civil Engineering, Management Engineering and Construction and Land Management of the University of San Marino.
