The winning project in the competition for the concept of the San Marino Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 will be announced at 13:30 PM tomorrow, Wednesday, December 19, during a ceremony in the Aula Magna of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara. Organized by Antonio Kaulard, the General Commissioner for Expo, together with the University of the Republic of San Marino, the competition involved 45 students enrolled in the Design program, divided into nine working groups, as well as faculty, professionals, and institutional representatives. An initial selection of three finalist projects, conducted by the General Commissioner together with faculty from the University and representatives of the Secretariats of State, was followed by an evaluation by a panel of experts who met in Dubai to select the winning project.
The international competition, called the “Creative Youth Programme,” was conceived and promoted by the Expo Dubai 2020 Organizing Committee and offers cash prizes for the top three projects.
The ideas proposed in the students' works may be used by the Commissioner's Office and Expo Dubai 2020 to develop the pavilion project, which will be built directly by Expo Dubai 2020 as part of the collaboration program secured with San Marino.
On Wednesday, in addition to the winner being announced, all nine competing concepts will be presented. The meeting point is at Contrada Omerelli 20, in the historic center of San Marino. Admission is free.
