The jurist's lectio magistralis is scheduled for February 26 at the Kursaal Congress Centre
The public attending the inauguration ceremony of the 26-2024 Academic Year of the University of the Republic of San Marino on February 25 will be able to attend, among other speeches, a lectio magistralis curated by the jurist Gustavo Zagrebelsky, entitled “Elogio del piccolo”.
Professor at the University of Turin, engaged in his academic career also in institutions such as the University of Sassari and Suor Orsola Benincasa of Naples, from 1995 to 2004 he was a judge of the Italian Constitutional Court, of which he was president from January to September in the last year of activity.
In addition to writing for newspapers such as La Stampa and La Repubblica, he has authored books in which he has addressed issues such as ethics, law and institutions. Among the titles is “La maschera democratica dell'oligarchia”, which he authored in 2015 together with Luciano Canfora, director of the Department of History and Law of the University of San Marino. In the very year of publication of the volume, Zagrebelsky was among the professors of the PhD in Historical Sciences of the University of San Marino for an event of the cycle entitled “I processi politici”. He also participated in a public debate on legality held at Palazzo Graziani, in which he spoke, among other things, of corruption.
During the ceremony on February 26, scheduled for 15:140 p.m. at the Kursaal Congress Center, the floor will also be given to the Rector of the University of San Marino, Corrado Petrocelli, who will take stock of past, present and future activities, as well as describing the spirit and values expressed in the degree courses and other training courses offered, as well as what has been done to serve the territory. By the way, in the last three years the University has curated XNUMX projects to spread knowledge and services in various sectors and disciplines, from Engineering to Design, from Medicine to School.
As in previous editions, the inauguration of the Academic Year is intended as a moment of stimulation and reflection open to the public. In the audience are scholars, students, institutional representatives and the main entities of the Titan and the Italian academic panorama. In the past, personalities such as the historian Alessandro Barbero, the jurist Giuliano Amato and the philosopher Maurizio Viroli have participated. Free admission.
