The Italian partisans in the resistance Yugoslavia: the film that tells the story at the University of San Marino

Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara

The story of the partisans of the Garibaldi division who joined the Yugoslav Resistance in 1943 fighting the cold, hunger and a devastating typhus epidemic will be told on Tuesday 27 September, at 21, with the screening of the documentary "Partizani - the Italian Resistance in Montenegro ”, scheduled in the former church of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, main seat of the University of the Republic of San Marino, located in the historic center of Titano.

Winner of the 2016 First Film award at the 22nd San Giò Verona Video Festival, the work was directed by the historian Eric Gobetti, born in 1973, a former PhD student in Historical Sciences at the University of San Marino who in 2008 discussed a thesis entitled "Memoir and historiography on the Italian occupation in Yugoslavia (1941-1943)".

After the screenings that in recent months have brought the documentary to cities such as Turin, Florence, Bologna, Venice, Rome, Palermo and Verona, the film therefore arrives in the republic thanks to the interest of the Scuola Superiore di Studi Storici of the Ateneo del Titano.

The film, lasting 65 minutes, relies on unpublished archive images and original music by Massimo Zamboni, known for having played in Italian bands such as CCCP and CSI. Admission is free. The event will see the participation of the director.
