Punto Europa brings to the cinema a film about scenarios for a future without the EU.

120 students are expected to attend the screening of "The Great European Disaster Movie," the documentary film that will be shown at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, at the Concordia Cinema in Borgo Maggiore. This event is organized by Punto Europa San Marino, the EU information service run by the Research Center for International Relations at the University of the Republic of San Marino. For the occasion, the institution has organized the event in collaboration with the Cultural Institutes of San Marino and the Scuola Superiore.

The film, directed by Annalisa Piras, a former correspondent for the weekly magazine 'L'Espresso', and journalist Bill Emmott, former editor of 'The Economist', offers a hypothesis on the possible effects of the dismemberment of the European Union, with particular attention to the effects on independence movements and nationalism.

"One of the goals of Punto Europa," explains Michele Chiaruzzi, director of the Research Center for International Relations at the University of San Marino, "is to help people understand a united Europe by developing independent thinking and critical thinking. This is urgent and necessary," the academic continues, "because what happens to the EU directly affects the lives of those who live on the continent, including us. The film, with its strengths and limitations, has the merit of supporting this goal with a popular and accessible medium."

Admission is free for all, students and non-students alike. The film will be screened in its original language with Italian subtitles.
