The Rector of the University of the Republic of San Marino, Corrado Petrocelli, is among the six figures appointed by the Italian National Commission for UNESCO to form the Education-Enterprise Committee, which has been entrusted with the task of exploring issues related to the development of education systems and their integration with production systems.
Just yesterday, in Rome, the first meeting of a group including former Italian ministers, regional councilors, and academics took place. In addition to Petrocelli, the participants included Patrizio Bianchi, Councilor for Education and Universities for the Emilia-Romagna Region; Francesco Profumo, former Rector of the Polytechnic University of Turin and former Italian Minister of Education; Luigi Nicolais, former Minister of Public Administration and former President of the National Research Council (CNR); Alfonso Fuggetta, professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan; Cristina Grieco, Councilor for Education and Employment for the Tuscany Region; and Alberto Felice De Toni, Rector of the University of Udine. Among the topics on the agenda: the organization of the university system; the situation of higher technical institutes; the state of higher education, technical education, and vocational training; and actions to support the transition from school to work, in a context that takes into account the rapid transformation of production systems and the global context in which production systems operate.
