Mount Titan and Japan in the video mapping scheduled for tomorrow on Pianello, created by the University of San Marino.

The façade of the Palazzo Pubblico will be the focus of a video mapping project curated by the University of the Republic of San Marino as part of the Nippon Matsuri Festival, scheduled for 10:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, June 29, in Piazza della Libertà, in the republic's historic center. Titled "San Marino and Japan: Intertwining Communities," the project will offer viewers a narrative based on elements of the Japanese and San Marino imagery, with particular reference to their tangible and intangible heritage, historical and cultural traditions, and the region. Content related to the world of animation and comics will also be featured, as well as a selection of images from the exhibition "Nagasaki beyond from San Marino" by American photographer Joe O'Donnell and the 17 sustainable development goals promoted by UNESCO and shared by both sides, such as the values of peace and justice.

The initiative, curated by the University of San Marino's Design degree program, involved a group of students coordinated by professors Riccardo Varini, Raffaele Cafarelli, and Stefano De Luca, along with Angela Gennaretti and Elena La Maida.

"It is an honor for the University to be able to contribute to an event that represents an excellent example of San Marino's openness and acceptance of Japanese culture," explains Varini. "Special thanks go to the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture, the San Marino Embassy in Japan, the Japan-San Marino Friendship Association, the San Marino National Commission for UNESCO, and the State Library for their assistance in researching content related to the history of the Republic."
