Second edition of the year for the technical seminar "Fundamentals of dynamics and experimental and operational modal analysis of structures" with which the University of the Republic of San Marino offers specific training for technicians who carry out "tightness" checks of buildings, from buildings to bridges, in relation to earthquakes. The initiative, which involved the Civil Engineering Degree Courses of the University of San Marino on 23 and 24 June, involved 18 professionals from all over the peninsula, from Milan to Rome, from Modena to Foggia, ready to learn the techniques more advanced for checks on the state of conservation of buildings which, over time, may have undergone changes not visible to the naked eye, thus allowing assessments of structural safety and the possible planning of reinforcement and seismic upgrading interventions.
“The experimentally determined dynamic parameters give us a picture of the state of health of a structure - says Fabrizio Gara, professor of Construction Techniques at the Polytechnic University of the Marche and speaker of the seminar together with Davide Roia, professor of Construction Techniques at the University San Marino - this allows us to evaluate the resistance in the event of an earthquake and to carry out a check on the functionality of the structure in operating conditions”. The seminar was organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino in collaboration with AEK srl and with the patronage of the Master technical-scientific association.
