At the inauguration of the University of San Marino's academic year, the Rector said: "A great opportunity for enrichment with the former editor of the Corriere della Sera."

“An excellent witness of our time who expressed his qualities by directing prestigious newspapers such as Il Sole 24 Ore and Il Corriere della Sera, from which he addressed the most dramatic and significant events and problems of the peninsula, as well as the international situation.” These are the words with which the Rector of the University of the Republic of San Marino, Corrado Petrocelli, described Ferruccio de Bortoli, the journalist who will deliver the Lectio Magistralis scheduled during the inauguration ceremony of the 2019-20 Academic Year. The event is at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12, at the Kursaal Congress Centre.

The Rector also recalled the title of the speech by the current president of the Longanesi publishing house, "Quality of Citizenship, Quality of Democracy," highlighting its value within the context of the path undertaken by the University of San Marino in promoting civic awareness, expressed both within educational programs and in conferences and other activities: "De Bortoli, among other things socially engaged in initiatives such as those of the Vidas volunteer association, has often reflected on sensitive issues that are dear to our University because they address the spheres of ethics, social issues, and civic life. Precisely in this sense, our commitment to discussing issues relating to civic awareness is extremely strong. His speech will represent a great opportunity for us to enrich ourselves."
