An academic exchange between San Marino and China to involve students, faculty, and staff, with the opportunity to collaborate on activities such as joint courses and research projects, as well as hosting seminars to promote business relations. This is the main thrust of the memorandum recently signed by the University of the Republic of San Marino and Shanghai University, an Eastern academic institution with over 2 faculty and 30 students.
The agreement, signed by the Rector of the University of San Marino, Corrado Petrocelli, and the Vice President of Shanghai University, Gong Siyi, has a duration of five years and is born from a shared vision of the importance of scientific collaboration as a tool for research and dissemination.
The two institutions are brought closer together by the University of San Marino's participation in the "Focus Belt and Road" project, which in 2018, thanks to the organization of the University of Shanghai, brought together more than 100 participants in the Chinese metropolis, including 32 representatives of universities from around the world and government officials from 22 cities twinned with Shanghai.
The agreement expands the network of agreements between the University of San Marino and academic institutions in countries such as Switzerland and Brazil.
