A seminar on the role of businesses in European fiscal integration, led by Adriano Di Pietro, Professor of Tax Law at the University of Bologna, yesterday opened the series of lectures "Freedom of Business — Freedom of Europe," organized by the Research Center for International Relations at the University of the Republic of San Marino and reserved for representatives of the companies of the National Association of San Marino Industries (ANIS). The event, held at the headquarters of the San Marino industrialists, includes four in-depth discussions on the EU's fundamental freedoms and the San Marino economy in light of the integration process, which currently sees the Republic engaged in negotiating an agreement with Brussels. The next lecture, scheduled for July 6th and led by Pietro Manzini, Professor of International Law at the University of Bologna, will be entitled "Goods in European Integration and the Four Freedoms of the European Union," while on July 13th, Marcello Forcellini of the Research Center for International Relations will speak on "Freedom of Capital Movement: Finance and the Market between Europe and San Marino." The final seminar is scheduled for September 7th, "The European Integration Process and the San Marino Journey," led by Giuliana Laschi, Jean Monnet Chair ad personam in History of European Integration. The lectures follow the series of seminars "The Land of the Free – the Freedoms of Europe," which last April and May offered an overview of the topic with six events open to the public and organized by the Research Center for International Relations of the University of San Marino.
