Seagull feathers, seaweed, shells, and cans washed up on the Adriatic Riviera beach. These and other elements are used to create works by students of the University of the Republic of San Marino's Design program, which will be exhibited during the Rimini Drawing Biennial, taking place from May 20 to 29, 2016, in the capital of Romagna. The initiative, called "Drawings on the Sand," will open on Saturday, May 21, in the New Wing of the City Museum at 4:00 PM. Curated by professors Sergio Menichelli and Davide Di Gennaro, they selected works that offered narratives inspired by a day of reportage on the Riviera: "We went to the Rimini beach in October and found objects abandoned during the summer, such as ice cream wrappers, plastic bottles, and salt-encrusted branches," the curators stated, describing the initiative. "These elements became the protagonists of our stories."
