The results of the study will be presented at a conference scheduled for 1 and 2 December
A research entitled "The support teacher in the San Marino reality", developed by the University of the Republic of San Marino through data, questionnaires, interviews and focus groups which involved 195 figures including school managers, present and past teachers, representatives institutions and social-health services, children with disabilities, families and representatives from the world of associations, will be presented on Friday 1 December as part of a conference on the topic scheduled at the Concordia Theater in Borgo Maggiore.
The project coordinated by Arianna Taddei, professor at the University of Macerata, retraces, among other things, the entire journey of the Titan, which began in the 60s, in the context of inclusion, "that is, the set of welcoming and participation processes that they allow anyone to be welcomed into the school, as well as into all other educational and social contexts of a territory, regardless of any difficulty or disadvantage, as well as social or ethnic origin. What has been returned – specifies the academic – is therefore a work of great relevance and international scope, which indicates Titan as a country at the forefront of the European panorama thanks to very advanced inclusion processes”.
The study, carried out together with the researcher from the University of San Marino Elena Mularoni, also offers an overview of the situation currently present in the republic inside and outside the school boundaries, highlighting virtuous dynamics and critical issues: "In this sense - anticipates Taddei - together with the goals achieved it is a void has emerged that begins right where school ends. What does a boy with a disability do, for example, in his free time after the bell rings? This is an area in which inclusive policies must intervene, not only scholastic but also social."
It is no coincidence that the interventions planned within the framework of the conference, also scheduled for Saturday 2 December, broaden the perspective by involving the San Marino Special Sports Federation, the San Marino Football Federation and the Institute for Social Security with the Minors Service and the Disability Service and Residential Assistance. Voice also to the San Marino Dyslexia Association, Centro anch'io, Batti Cinque and InVolo.
“It is necessary to strengthen the network – Taddei finally suggests – by investing in what will happen to children when they no longer have the support of their parents and by questioning the bridges that can be built between school and other realities to develop autonomy and skills”.
The conference, entitled "Reality and prospects of inclusion in the training system of the Republic of San Marino", is organized together with the Education Department and is mainly aimed at school staff, categories, trade unions and interested parties. Entrance is free. Interventions by academics are expected
from the Universities of Urbino and Bolzano, as well as from the University of San Marino. Among them Luigi Guerra, director of the Department of Human Sciences.
